All Suesvillas properties are either on the coast, or very close to it.

Over many years of holidaying in the Algarve we have chosen our own favourite beaches.

marinha beach algarveWe had stayed in several locations from the hills behind Faro to the top of Monchique, all some way back from the coast, and driven down to these beaches many times.

When we bought our own holiday home (Casa Alegre) we looked in the places we loved, choosing to buy in Armacao de Pera, behind the Algarve's longest beach, stretching miles to the East, but also at the start of the 20+ small cove beaches that stretch from here Westwards to Carvoeiro and beyond.

These include our favourite beach; Marinha (pictured).  Marinha has stunning scenery, beautiful soft sand, cafe', water sports and sunbeds (handy sometimes if it gets very hot).  It is consequently popular, but never too busy, as you have to drive to get to it, with no hotels nearby.

Carvoeiro is busy though, especially in peak season.

Thankfully it is one of many beaches, all close by.  Having your own car is a real advantage and some of the beaches you can visit have to be experienced to be believed.

We try at least one new beach on every visit, and have added new favourites every time.  These include Praia Grande(Armacao de Pera, pictured left), a lovely wide beach, with loads of room, reached by a wooden causeway from the car park.  Moving a short distance from the end of the path and you have the beach to yourselves, even in the height of summer - picture left taken mid day in August.

Suesvillas provides guests with a good quality local map so that they can explore (and find !) the beaches they want to visit.

I can recommend the following website, for its beach and other local information;
